Dementia Darnings
The Dementia Darnings developed from my mother’s interest and joy in looking through family photo albums.
She was diagnosed with dementia in 2011 and as my role as carer increased it seemed only possible to continue my art practice by making her and our situation the subject of my work.
Conceptual Clothing
Jenni Dutton uses the subject of the female body and clothing to work with the concept of absence and transformation, exploring associations around memory through the mixed media constructions.
Absurd Sewn Selfies
The Absurd Sewn Selfies offer explorations into identity, ageing, disguise and power.
The work is made using traditional female materials and processes and offers the universal search for relevance in a world that can undervalue older members of society.
